Taas oli pitkä tauko!
Tämän tauon aikana valitettavasti kaksi kasvisravintolaa Nagoyassa lopetti toiminnansa. Mutta toivotaan, että tulee lisää uusia kasvisravintoloita, ja minä yritän jatkovasti etsiä sellaisia ja kirjoittaa niistä.

Tässä blogissa jatkan vielä kirjoittaa Japanin kasvisravintoloista, mutta jotkut tiedot saattavat olla vanhoja, sillä suurinmassa osassa ravointoloista kävin viime maaliskuussa. Kävin viime joulukuussakin Japanissa, joten kirjoitan myös uusista kokemuksistani.

Sitten mennään tämän päivän aiheeseen, eli LOVE pacific cafe!

Tämä ravintola sijaitsee Sakaessa, Nagoyan keskustassa, joten on tosi kätevä poiketa siellä shoppailun seassa.
Ravintola on joogastudion ensimmäisessä kerroksessa, joten siellä on usein paljon naisasiakkaita. Ravintola on lahellä Nadiaparkia(ostoskeskus, jossa on esm Loft).

Menusta löytyy hampurilaisia, salaatteja, tacoriisia jne.
Kaikki ruoat ovat vegaanisia. 

Salaatteja voi koota itse omalle lautasella mitä haluaa, mutta vain kerran.

Tämä on teriyaki-soijaleikkeen hampurilaisateria. Ateriaan kuului hampurilainen ja keitto.
Molemmat olivat tosi hyvijä!
Ravintolassa on myös kahvia, teetä ja kakkua. Kahviin saa toki soijamaitoa.

I'm sorry for a long break. Again I have been lazy to keep this blog. But thanks to people who have been visited my blog while I have been away from it, I still keep writing it.
I will still write about restaurants, which I visited in last March, so some of the information can be old. I am also going to write about new restaurants, which I visited last December.

So, here is a main topic, LOVE pacific cafe.
This is a quite new restaurant, maybe one year or so since it has opened? It's in Sakae, central of Nagoya so it's very easy to reach there, also for tourists. It's actually near Nadiapark, the shopping centor. Restraunt's second floor is yoga studio.

In menu, they have hamburgers, salads, soup and so on. Salads is self service so you can take what you want to your own plate, but only one time.
I ordered teriyaki-soymeet hamburger and soup set, which was very good.
Every menu is vegan.

There are also drinks and cakes so nice to have some teatime there.

Natural cafe Bou,Nagoya (Closed)

Natural café Bou sijaitsee Nagoyan Fujigaokassa. Samassa paikassa järjestettiin vegaanitapaaminen ja buffet. Koska ravintolan ruoat oli tosi hyvät, päätin käymään uudestaan.

Ravintolaan pääsee metrolla ja metroasemmalta noin kuuden minuutin kävelymatka. Ensimmäistä kertaa oli vähän hankala löytää paikan, joten suosittelen ottaa kartan mukaan.

Ravintolan menu ei itse asiassa ole kaikki vegaanisia, sillä jotkut ruoassa käytetään kananmunia. Mutta kyllä henkilökunnalta voi aina kysyä.

Söin hayashirice ja karaage(syväpaistettu soijapaloja). Se oli lempiruokani, kun en ole ollut vielä kasvissyöjä, joten oli kiva yllätys, että vegaaninen hayashirice maistui niin hyvältä.

Tämä on mielestäni paras kasvisravintola Nagoyassa.

Ravintolan omistaja on todella ystävällinen ja oli hauska jutella hänen kanssaan. Hän sanoi, että hän tekee aktiivisesti hyväntekeväystöitä ja sen takia joskus ravintola on kiinni. Ravintolassa myös järjestetään erilaisia tapahtuma kuten elokuvanäytös ja keikat.

Natural cafe Bou is a vegetarian restaurant. Eggs are used in some menus, so better to ask from a owner. You can go there by Higashiyama line, subway and get off at Fujigaoka station. After that about 6 minutes by foot from the subway station. At first, I almost got lost untill I found the restaurant so I recommend taking a map with you.

I ordered hayashi rice, which was so good.  In my opinion, this is the best vegetarian restraint in Nagoya. There are also desserts such as tiramisu and drinks.

Tällä kertaa Japanin matkassa, minulla oli mahdollisuus tavata muita japanilaisia vegaaneja, johon ole ottanut yhteyttä mm. netin kautta. En ole aikaisemmin tavannut japanilaisia vegaaneja, joten oli tosi kiva nähdä heidät ja vaihtaa tietoja vegaanismista ja muista aiheista.

Nagoyassa järjestettiin kaksi kasvissyöntiin liittyvää tapahtumaa ja osallistuin siihen.

Ensimmäinen oli elokuvanäytös ja vegaaninen buffe kasvisravintolassa. Nautimme vegaanisia herkkuja ja tapasimme uusiin ihmisiin. Siellä ei välttämättä ole ollut pelkkä kasvissyöjiä, mutta myös niitä ihmisiä, jotka ovat kiinnostunut kasvissyönnista. Ja oli myös kiva keskustella hendän kanssaan.

Natsumi on yksi niistä vegaaneistaa, johon olen ottanut yhteyttä netin kautta. Tutustuin häneen hänen piirtamasta mangasta. Hänen mangansa kertoo kasvissyönnistä, vegaanismista, tehotuotannoista kärsiviä eläimistä, kasvistyönnin ja sen vaikutus ympäristöstä jne. Se on helppo lukea, mutta samaan aikaan antaa vahva vaikutus ihmisille. Japanissa on tosi vähän vegaaneja, ja eläinoikeuden perustava vegaaneja on vielä tosi vähän.(Suurin osa japanilaisista vegaaneista ovat terveyden perusteella oleva vegaaneja) Natsumi on yksi niistä harvinaisista vegaanesista. Hän toimi myös Nagoya vegaani festivaalin yksi järestäjänä.

Sitten tapasin erään naisen, jolla on Multiple chemical sensitivity. Hän on todella altis kamilaallisiin aineisiin. Kun hän on lähellä niitä asioita, hän saa heti allergian tyyppinen oireita(hän kolosti, että tämä sairas ei ole mikään allergia), kuten nuha ja päänsärky. En tiedä onko tämän keltainen sairas olemassa Suomessa. Hän sai tämän sairas yhtääkkiä elämässään ja sen jälkeen hänen elämänsä muuttui täysin. Pahimmissa aikoina hänen joutui muuttamaan maaseudulle ja asumaan teltalla noin kolmeksi kuukaudeksi. Hänestä tuli kasvissyöjä tämän sairaan vuoksi, koska eläintuotteissa on käytetty paljon lisäaineita ja hormoneja. Häneen vaikuttaa myös sähkömagneettinen säteily, joten hänen kännykällään ja tietokonellaan on sähkömagneettisen säteilynsuoja.

Nykyinen ongelmat hänelle(ja tietysti muille japanilaisillekin) on säteily ja PM2.5, eli wikipedian mukaan pienhiukkanen suomeksi. Japaniin tulee saastunut ilmaa Kiinasta ja ne pienhiukkaset leviävät ilmaan. Pienhiukkaiset leviävät erityisesti Japanin eteläpuolella. Fukushiman onnettomuuden jälkeen jotkut ihmiset pakenivat säteilyn uhasta Japanin eteläosiin, mutta nyt he ovat pienhiukkasen uhan alla. Sen lisäksi Japanin valtio polttaa tsunamin raunioita ympäri Japania, ja raunioiden polttaessa leviää säteilyä ilmaan.

Minäkin olen aina Japanin matkustaessani huolissaan säteilystä. Ruoanostoksilla aina katson miltä aluaalta ruoat tulivat ja jos ne on tehty tai viljeltu Japanin Kanto alueella, jätän ne ostamatta. Kuulin samanlaista myös muilta kasvissyöjiltä, jotka olen tavannut. Jotkut ihmiset ovat huolissaan, suurin osa ollenkaan.

Ihmisiin tutustumisen jälkeen katsottiin elokuva, Planeat. Se kertoo eninmäkseen T. Colin Campbelln tekemästä The Chine study;sta. Cambell tutkii kiinalaiset ympäti Kiinaa, ja tutkii miten erilaisia ruokavalio vaikuttaa ihmisten terveyteen. Tämän tutkimuksen jälkeen hän muutti vegaaniksi. Elokuvanäytöksen jälkeen ostin hänen kirjansa, mutta en ole vielä aloittanut lukemaan.

Toinen tapahtuma oli vegaaninen ”ohanami”. Nagoyan vegaaniporukka järjesti vegaaninen piknikki ja kävin siellä. Me istuttiin kirsikkapuiden alla ja nautimme herkkullisia vegaanisia ruokia. Piknikille tuli myös yksi taiwanilainen nainen, ja me nautimme hänen tuomaa vihreä teetä. Hän on buddhalainen vegaani, joka ei syö sipuleja, valkosipuleja ja jotein sellaista.(tämä kuulemma liittyy buddhalaisuuteen.)

Kaikki ruuat oli täydelliset!!! Ja myös kauniita oli. Muiden tekemä ruoka maistuu aina hyvältä. :D

GRACEFUL KITCHEN in Nagoya Centrair Airport(CLOSED)

 Kävin Nagoyan lentkentalla sijaitsevassa uudessa vegaanisessa ravintolassa. Ravintolan nimi on Graceful Kitchen. Oli tosi hyviä ruokia ja kävin siellä kolme kertaa.

Ravintolan seinillä oli marimekon kankaasta tehtyjä tauluja. :)

 Menulistasta löytyi monipuolisia ruokia, esim. kasviscurry, pizza, syväpaistettu soijafilee, pastaa, salaatteja, piirakoita, vegaanisia juomia jne.

Tilasin Kimuchichizen. (Korealainen ruoka, johon kuuluu Kimuchi, tofuja, sieneja ja kiinankaaleja. Ne on keitetty tulisessa keitossa) Tietysti tässä ravintolassa Kimuchi on vegaaninen. Ateriaan kuului myös korealaista merilevää, kimuchi ja riisi (voi valita sekä täysjyväriisin, että valkoisen riisin)

Jälkiruoaksi tilasin tofu mousen ja soija latte.

Ruuat oli täydellinen! Harmi etten asu lähellä lentokentaa.
Voi myös ottaa jonkun aterian mukaan. He myyvät valmiiksi pakattuja aterioita.

Suurin osa lentokentan ravintoloista sijaitsee kolmannessa kerroksessa, MUTTA tämä ravintola sijaitsee ensimmäisessä kerroksessa. Alhaalla on kartta.

There is new vegan restaurant in Nagoya Centrair Airport!!

There are drinks, desserts, pasta, main dishes such as deep fried soymeat, vege burger, pizza, curry, noodles and so on. What was exciting to me is that they also sell lunchbox!! Next time I want to bring it to the airplane to eat than airline's poor vegan meal.

The dog died while he was watching food. 

This dog starved to dead while he was watching food in the first month after March 11th. I am so upset at the Japanese government who does not try to rescue animals they could rescue. This dog was so much in agony when he died. I cannot forget about him who died with hunger, disappointment, hope and trust to humans.

It’s a dog’s life for activist jailed for rescuing pets in nuke zone

‘The state says I have committed a crime, but I believe I have done the right thing’ HIROSHI HOSHI ANIMAL RESCUER

A JAPANESE animal rights activist who has been conducting missions to rescue abandoned pets within the Fukushima exclusion zone has been arrested and kept in a police cell for more than one month.

Hiroshi Hoshi and his son, Leo Hoshi, were arrested by police on January 28 and taken into custody for illegally entering the 20km zone around the stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant.

Supporters of Mr Hoshi have called his detention — in a cell shared with other prisoners — a breach of human rights and are urging Japanese police and prosecutors to release him and his son from captivity.

In a note to supporters sent from inside the Nihonmatsu police station in Fukushima prefecture, Mr Hoshi said he was the victim of government harassment for bringing the problem of abandoned animals to public attention.

‘‘It has been 22 days since I was put in a prison cell. I presume the state’s aim is to hold me until midApril, when this matter is expected to come to a head,’’ he said.

‘‘I think this is a dirty trick that they are playing. Most of all, I feel sorry for my wife, who is left alone.’’

In June 2011, about three months after the earthquake and nuclear accident, The Australian reported that Mr Hoshi had successfully entered the exclusion zone to rescue two dogs seen wandering right outside the plant on a web cam installed on the perimeter of the plant, 250km north of Tokyo.

His efforts in collecting animals abandoned during the evacuation of the almost 100,000 residents from the area garnered him and his supporters much publicity, and highlighted the lack of effort from authorities in tackling this issue.

Mr Hoshi said he had been cooperating with the police investigation — and he admits to the facts of the charges — but he was still being denied his freedom and access to his wife and a lawyer.

‘‘The state says I have committed a crime, but I believe that I have done the right thing,’’ he said.

‘‘For the last two years I have been wholeheartedly committed to rescuing animals. However, the state has labelled my activity as a crime, and hence I was arrested.

‘‘I have been segregated from all outside contacts, denied access to legal counsel, and I wasn’t even allowed to write to my wife.’’

Mr Hoshi and his son — who are being kept in separate police lock-ups — were charged with illegal entry into the exclusion zone and forging paperwork to allow them to pass police roadblocks.

Japanese law allows for suspects to be detained for more than 20 days without charge and it can be difficult to secure bail once charged.

Since April 2011, the Hoshi family and their supporters have conducted more than 150 missions into the zone to rescue many dogs and cats and to feed other abandoned animals. In his letter, Mr Hoshi accused police of setting out to bankrupt his family-run auto supplies business to curtail his animal rights activities.

‘‘The state confiscated 30 items of my belongings, including computers, to drive my business into bankruptcy and stop my funding,’’ he said. ‘‘Because of that I cannot operate with my business at all.’’

Mr Hoshi, who comes from Fukushima but has been living in Tokyo, fell into his animal rights work by accident when he and his son agreed they had to act after watching a news bulletin about the plight of abandoned animals soon after the March 11, 2011, disaster. The area around the nuclear plant was home to numerous small farms with cattle, pigs, chickens and other animals. Livestock and pets were left to starve amid radioactive fallout when residents were ordered out of the area.

In 2011, Mr Hoshi said he had seen some dogs in the area become cannibals, feasting on the corpses of their deceased brethren out of hunger. The dogs that his group, the Hachiko Coalition, rescue are assessed by vets and then placed with volunteers who want to provide them with new homes.

Ruriko Yoshida, a friend of the Hoshis who has helped them with their rescues, said authorities were trying to minimise attention on the situation in Fukushima in the lead up to the second anniversary on March 11.

‘‘I think it’s about intimidating other animal rescuers,’’ she told The Australian.

‘‘The Japanese government doesn’t want the world to see that they have abandoned the animals within the exclusion zone.’’

Almost all livestock within the exclusion zone have died, with the exception of those cared for by the lone ‘‘holdout’’ — farmer Naoto Matsumura, who has refused to leave his property.

But Ms Yoshida said Mr Hoshi estimated there were still as many as 3000 pets within the zone. They are mostly cats, which have been breeding steadily despite the lack of prepared food available.

Mr Hoshi’s wife, Hiromi, said her husband had no regrets but had told her to get his story out as best she could.

‘‘He wants justice and he wants everyone to know what’s going on,’’ she said.

As you know on Jan 28th Hiroshi and Leo Hoshi were arrested at the FUkushima police department and on Feb 18th they prosecuted them for making the fake permit and entering the exclusion zone without a permit. We know that everyone on HOSHI FAMILY including Hiroshi Hoshi worked so hard to rescue animals left behind in the Fukushima exclusion zone since 3.11. However, the Fukushima police department and prosecutor are accusing them very strictly. This action is so dis-respectable to animals left behind and victims who could not take these animals with them. In addition the Fukushima prosecutor keeps them in the prison since the end of Jan. We would like to demand to release Hiroshi and Loe Hoshi in order to rescue several thousands of pets left behind ASAP. As you know in order to bail them out it will cost us a lot of money. As we see previous cases we estimate about one million yens per a person. In addition we have to pay for an attorney as well as the court costs. (The date of the court is on March 27th 2013.)
